Onehunga High School was established in 1959 on it's Pleasant Street site. The original roll was 190 students but it has grown gradually to a roll of more than 1500. The school has always served the catchment of Onehunga, Royal Oak, Hillsborough and Mangere Bridge but in recent times enrolments beyond this zone have increased. Today the school is strongly international and enjoys all the qualities a wide range of cultures bring.
